Parlance Educators

Education that speaks to you

Connection. Clarity. Confidence.

It’s easier to understand when we feel understood. In the classroom, it’s tough to establish the connection we know is critical to learning. With limited time and competing goals among students and faculty, it’s nearly impossible to gain sharp, clear insights on subtle topics, and confidence can flag, leaving students feeling ever more disconnected from the curriculum and those around them.

Parlance Educators brings years of experience to break this cycle. We have thousands of hours working with students one-on-one, forming connection, finding sought-after clarity, and fostering confidence in students and their support teams alike. Our approach not only helps students master academic subjects, but also forms lifelong learning habits. With connection, clarity, and confidence, students are ready for what lies ahead.

Engaging and Responsive Education

As information explodes in volume and variety, learning how to confirm, contextualize, and connect it have become invaluable skills. Yet, with the breadth and depth of material expected to be covered in any given academic year, there is little to no time devoted to honing those skills. Parlance Educators aims to change that.

Methods that Meet Your Needs

Whether a deep dive into content and specifics is necessary, a discussion of tips, tricks, and strategies is preferred, or a more nuanced analysis of course material or test structure is helpful, Parlance Educators is prepared to meet you where you are. Together, we’ll determine the methods that match your manner of operating. We don’t “teach to the test.” We teach to you.

A Scholastic Sidekick from the Start

Parlance Educators is here to help from the start of when classes get harder in high school through rigorous math and science curricula in college, from the start of the college testing process through its return for graduate admissions, or from the start of a project still just getting organized through to polishing up a report or a slide deck for a presentation.

Lead Educator Andrew DuFresne has also been helping students from the start - from tutoring classmates to leading classes in college to designing and teaching courses for a range of audiences at different stages of their educational and professional journeys.

What people say

ABOVE & BEYOND

“Andrew is one of the best tutors my daughter has ever had. Andrew has gone above and beyond helping her with college chemistry. She says he explains the concepts so well to her. Andrew is an amazing teacher, and he has helped build my daughter’s confidence in the sciences. He is always willing to find time to meet with her, and we really appreciate all of his help. As a tutor and a person, Andrew is priceless.”

TREMENDOUS SUPPORT

“Andrew provided tremendous support to our son as he prepared for the ACT. It is challenging for students to complete their course prep work while still studying for school. Andrew was able to inspire our son to complete his prep work and take multiple practice tests. My son benefited tremendously from Andrew’s patient instruction and guidance. We look forward to working with Andrew again with our younger son.”

— Sidwell Friends School parent

INSPIRING APPROACH

“Andrew has tutored my two older sons to prepare for standardized tests (ACT, SAT, and subject SATs) for college applications and high school AP exams. Over the years, my sons have had tutor support from a few different tutors, but I have to say Andrew is the best. He is super smart, relates very well to students ranging in ages and most importantly has motivated my kids with his positive and inspiring attitude and approach. The results have been great: top notch ACT scores, confident college applicants, and good college choices. I am already booking Andrew for my youngest son who starts high school in the fall. I can’t imagine going through the college application process without his very valuable support and coaching for the kids.”
